The Belgian National Security Council has reduced the threat level to 3.

at 4 (serious and imminent threat) for Brussels; level 3 for the rest of the country.

All metro stations and schools will remain closed on Tuesday but with the intention of them opening on Wednesday 25 November.  Trams, buses and other transportation are working but remain disrupted.  Regional trains and the airports are operating as normal but the authorities urge vigilance. The public have been asked to continue to avoid public places such as major pedestrian walkways and shopping centres and to cooperate with the security services.

Students are reminded to take all necessary precautions to ensure their safety until the situation stablises.
