Berkeley Law Award for BSIS Law PhD Alumna

PhD alumna Bilyana Petkova has been awarded a Berkeley Law Award from the University of California. Her draft article, entitled ‘The Safeguards of Privacy Federalism in the United States and the European Union’, discusses the interplay of nation or EU-wide and local standards in the field of data privacy and is forthcoming as a NYU Jean Monnet Working Paper in August 2015. The article has been selected from 270 others as one of the top papers by pre-tenure scholars at the recent international 8th Annual Privacy Law Scholars conference.
