Revisiting the battlefields of WW1

When: Friday 10th July 2015, we invite you to join University of Kent on all-day visit to Ypres in Flanders which experienced some of the most intense fighting of the War.
Learn about the human cost and political impact of the First World War and discover how that has helped to shape the Europe that exists today. The trip will feature a visit to the In Flanders Field Museum and several key sites that include:
– Langemark | German military cemetery
– Tyne Cot | The largest Commonwealth cemetery
– Menin Gate | The Last Post Ceremony was established in 1927 to honour fallen soldiers. It has taken place every evening at Menin Gate since then
The total cost of the trip is €30 and includes the following:
– Transport | Includes return journey from Brussels to Ypres, and all sites throughout the day. Transport is via coach.
– Guide | Specialised commentary by Dr Mike Palo and Martine Delsemme
– Lunch
– Museum entrance the In Flanders Field Museum
