Two Capitals programme

Have you heard of our Two Capitals programme?

The University of Kent’s Two Capitals Programme gives students a unique opportunity to learn about international affairs in a global context. Students spend one year at the Brussels School of International Studies before moving to another global capital to broaden their understanding of international studies.
Two Capitals, Two Masters is a new and innovative double Master’s program, designed to offer students the opportunity to study, train, and network in Brussels before moving to, for example, Washington D.C. or Beijing.

Study in Brussels and Washington D.C.
The Two Capitals Programme in Washington DC is based on exchange agreements with Virginia Tech and George Mason University.
The programme consists of the following:
One year of study at the Brussels School of International Studies (BSIS): You apply for an MA from the following specializations:
•    International Relations
•    International Conflict and Security
•    International Political Economy
•    European Public Policy
•    International Development
After successfully completing your MA at BSIS, you then go on to study one year at Virginia Tech, National Capital Region in Alexandria (VT-NCR): You enrol in the Master’s in Public and International Affairs (MPIA).
At the end of two years, you earn an MA from The University of Kent (BSIS), and an MPIA from Virginia Tech!

How do you apply?
You submit an online application to BSIS by going to our website www.kent.ac.uk/brussels. Select your programme of interest (one of the five listed above) and then click on the link after “Apply online now”.
Further information on our general entry requirements can be found here:  http://www.kent.ac.uk/brussels/studying/admissions/requirements.html
We would advise you to submit a detailed personal statement, indicating that you are interested in the Two Capitals programme.
You will be expected to have completed the taught courses of your chosen programme at BSIS and have achieved an average of a Merit before applying for one of the exchanges as part of the Two Capitals Programme. A decision on whether a student may undertake an exchange will be made in May for those students who started their masters in the previous September and in February for those students who started in January.
