Or, to specify, dear full-time September students, and dear part-time students who have finished your second term,
I know you are now thinking about papers, but I did also want to remind you of another important upcoming deadline – your DRAFT dissertation proposal is due 17 January 2014.
See the FDR Syllabus for more information on what this entails and what it should include – but in essence, it is at least one paragraph, up to about two pages. If you are unsure about your topic, it is fine to discuss the two topics you are thinking about.
Submitting the draft proposal, even though it is not marked, is VERY IMPORTANT – it allows me to assign you a supervisor. If you do not submit your draft proposal, I CANNOT assign you a supervisor.
