Hello from your BGU Welfare Officers!

Hello students of BSIS!

We (Maggie Toffelmire and Hazel Allan) would like to introduce ourselves as your new BGU Welfare chairs. Maggie is an LLM International Law with International Relations student. Hazel is in the MA International Conflict and Security programme. And we are both from Canada so we promise to be really nice and apologize for your problems 

First to explain a bit about the position of Welfare Chair: basically, we are your first point of contact if you have a problem or question about university services involving health, housing or finances. We will do our best to find a solution or connect you to someone who can. Please do not feel shy about approaching us – we are here to help (and as we said, Canadians are a friendly bunch)! Our emails are hea2@kent.ac.uk (Hazel) and mt390@kent.ac.uk (Maggie).

In the next few weeks, we will be working to provide you guys with information on Canterbury resources that you may not be aware you have access to. Also, we would like to focus on helping to make the transition for January students in the area of housing a little bit easier. We are going to be sending out a housing survey soon and we encourage all students to complete it. Share your experiences so that future BSISers can benefit!

In the meantime, please feel to contact us if you have any questions, comments or concerns not related to academics (Jamie Crain, the Academic Chair can help you with those).

Thank you and have a great rest of the week!
