UK Labour Party Political Communications – Guest Lecture

David Poyser, Media Communications Advisor and Consultant to the British Labour Party

There will be a guest lecture on UK Labour Party Political Communications on Wednesday 5 December at 10 o’clock  Wilson Room as part of the module on Political Communications (MA in Political Strategy and Communication).

We are delighted to announce that Mr. David Poyser will give a lecture on his experience as Media and Communications Advisor and Consultant to the British Labour Party and Socialist Democrat MEPs at the European Parliament.

Guest speaker’s CV

David Poyser came to work for the European Parliament 10 years ago heading up the production division of the AV unit in the European Parliament, working for all political parties, after an award-winning career in broadcasting production. David’s audio visual output includes educational programmes for the Open University, BBC, The Learning Channel and Euronews.

He then worked in the London office of the European Parliament where, working with the UK Government and other colleagues, he helped to bump up UK turnout from 24% (the lowest in the EU) to 38%.

Since then he has spent three years for Socialist MEPs in the European Parliament, and more than a year working for the Labour MEPs in Brussels, Strasbourg and at the Labour Party headquarters in London. He was also part of the team at Labour Headquarters during the last UK General Election.
