This competitive scheme provides support at a rate of \u00a3150 per week to allow students to undertake a piece of clinical work over the summer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emma Betts <\/strong>is working in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ekhuft.nhs.uk\/patients-and-visitors\/research-and-development\/\">East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust<\/a>\u00a0on the project \u2018Diagnosis of carcinoid syndrome- measurement of 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid\u2019. She is supervised by Alan Dodd and based in the biochemistry department at the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Isabelle le Bailly<\/strong> will be placed in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medway.nhs.uk\/\">Medway Foundation Trust <\/a>conducting an audit of compliance of NICE guideline CG177 and inputting data for the ongoing National Joint Registry and National Hip Fracture Database.
