Both were successful in obtaining funding from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bspp.org.uk\/\">British Society for Plant Pathology<\/a> (BSPP) through their undergraduate vacation bursary scheme. They will join existing research groups and receive expert supervision and training while working towards their specific research objectives.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/biosciences\/people\/1948\/lawrence-andrew\">Dr Andrew Lawrence<\/a> (summer placement coordinator) said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSummer vacation studentships provide an excellent opportunity for undergraduates who are considering a research career to gain valuable practical experience in a research laboratory. Projects typically last between 8 and 10 weeks during which time the students become fully integrated within a research group.
