The School of Biosciences saw their final year Undergraduate students graduating on 15 July in the grand surroundings of Canterbury Cathedral. The official graduation ceremony was held at 19:30 but the School decided to make a day of it!<\/p>\n
During the morning our graduands and their guests were invited onto campus to show their friends and family around the School and a chance to see our lab facilities.\u00a0 This was followed with an exclusive access graduation drinks reception at the Drapers Arms, a lovely city restaurant in the city centre, close to the Cathedral and with a pretty roof terrace garden. The graduands, their family and academic staff enjoyed a selection of canap\u00e9s alongside pimms, prosecco and fruit juices.<\/p>\n
Professor Dan Lloyd welcomed friends and family on such a special day and highlighted how the day is a celebration of both academic achievement and a celebration of personal development for our students. Dan presented a number of prizes to students awarded by the School, Faculty and external societies, such as the Royal Society for Biology.\u00a0 He also reminded students that support from the School will be ongoing even after they officially become graduates and urged them to keep in touch as we love to hear what our Alumni are getting up to.<\/p>\n
