Students from 20 secondary schools in Kent and Medway have been getting a science lab masterclass at the University of Kent’s School of Biosciences<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Thirty-one Year 12 students spent the week 20-24 August at the School of Biosciences labs, learning about research into proteins.
\nThe Work Experience Week is aimed at giving the students a thorough introduction to the world of scientific research work and hands-on experience of producing and analysing proteins.
\nOrganiser Dr Ben Goult<\/a> said: \u2018The week has involved guided research to produce, purify and characterise fluorescent proteins of biological and clinical significance, providing key practical and technical skills in the biological sciences. It also featured seminars from some of our world-leading researchers and guidance on completing UCAS applications from our admissions experts.
\nThe week\u2019s activities concluded with the students enjoying a social event attended by friends and family at which they presented their work.<\/p>\n
