{"id":1819,"date":"2018-02-09T09:54:06","date_gmt":"2018-02-09T09:54:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/biosciences\/?p=1819"},"modified":"2018-10-04T15:36:30","modified_gmt":"2018-10-04T14:36:30","slug":"consolidator-prize-for-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/biosciences\/2018\/02\/09\/consolidator-prize-for-research\/","title":{"rendered":"Consolidator Prize for Research"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/bio\/profiles\/staff\/tullet.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr Jenny Tullet,<\/a> Lecturer in Biogerontology, in\u00a0the\u00a0School of Biosciences, has been awarded the Faculty of Sciences Prize for Consolidator Research.<\/p>\n<p>The award is in recognition of Dr Tullet\u2019s research into the molecules underlying the ageing process by winning one of this year\u2019s 2018 University Research Prizes. Recently, her laboratory has been involved in identifying a role for the RNA Polymerase III enzyme in regulating lifespan in collaboration with other groups at UCL and the University of Groningen. This work was published in the scientific journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/nature25007\"><em>Nature<\/em><\/a>.
