\"Abby\"The National Student Survey has once again recognised the School of Biosciences as one of the very best places to study in the UK. Reflecting the consistent excellent of our learning environment, undergraduate degree programmes<\/a> within the School have been ranked within the top 10 for the third consecutive year.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

With “overall student satisfaction”\u00a0at 97%, the School was ranked seventh<\/strong> out of 58 institutions for Biochemistry<\/a>. Our Biology<\/a> and Biomedical Science<\/a> were ranked thirteenth<\/strong> out of 82 institutions, with overall student satisfaction at 95%.<\/p>\n

Quality of teaching was a particularly strong feature of the survey, with Biochemistry ranked first in the UK for \u201cStaff are good at explaining things\u201d, and fourth for \u201cStaff are enthusiastic about what they are teaching\u201d. Biology and Biomedical Science students ranked us in the top 10 for \u201cGood advice was available when I needed to make study choices\u201d, \u201cI have been able to contact staff when I needed to\u201d, and \u201cAny changes in the course or teaching have been communicated effectively\u201d.<\/p>\n

These results follow the performance in the recent Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014), which placed the School of Biosciences in the top 10 for research intensity<\/a>. Coupled with Kent’s status as a leading UK university, these results confirm the School of Biosciences as one of the UK\u2019s premier centres of learning and discovery and an excellent place to study the biological sciences.<\/p>\n
