Students on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/postgraduate\/93\/science-communication-society\">MSc Science, Communication and Society<\/a> worked with Dr. Dan Lloyd and Canterbury Festival staff to research suitable events, shaping an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canterburyfestival.co.uk\/whats-on.aspx?filter=date&amp;g=3582\">exciting series <\/a>spanning science and the arts.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the festival, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canterburyfestival.co.uk\/whats-on\/science\/younome.aspx\"><strong>Younome<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; an art-science collaboration between artist Keith Robinson and Biosciences staff Dr. Gary Robinson and Prof. Darren Griffin &#8211; explores genomics. Self portraits representing individual chromosomes will be displayed in shop windows along the <a href=\"http:\/\/thekingsmile.org.uk\/\">King&#8217;s Mile<\/a> shopping district in the centre of Canterbury.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Tasos Tsaousis will be leading <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.canterburyfestival.co.uk\/whats-on\/science\/little-monsters.aspx\">Little Monsters<\/a><\/strong> (Stacey Building Laboratories, Saturday 29 October, 2pm) &#8211; a Halloween-themed family event using microscopes to take a look at the creepy critters that live around us.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Darren Griffin will be giving a talk in the Canterbury Cathedral Lodge (Tuesday 1 November, 8pm), alongside research colleague Prof. Alan Thornhill.
