\n<\/a>The School of Biosciences<\/a> proudly congratulates Dr Ben Goult<\/a>, Lecturer in Biosciences,\u00a0on\u00a0receiving a 2016 Research Grant from the Human Frontiers Science Program (HFSP).<\/p>\n

The highly prestigious HFSP Research Grants are awarded to innovative and ground-breaking research projects carried out by interdisciplinary teams of scientists across the globe.<\/p>\n

Dr Goult shares the $1.45million Program Grant with colleagues in the Netherlands, Singapore, and Canada for their project “Control of cell migration and polarity by a mechanosensory complex linking adhesion and microtubules”.<\/p>\n

The 2016 competition for HFSP Research Grants was highly competitive. Out of 871 initial applications, only 32 projects were funded worldwide, an eventual success rate of 3.7%.\u00a0 This is the first HFSP grant awarded to the University of Kent<\/a>, it is hoped this will boost Kent’s international reputation further as a world class centre of excellence for research.<\/p>\n
