Having a Ball

having a ball

On Friday 31st January, the first ever Sciences Ball was held in Eliot Dining Hall.

It was a collaboration between BioSoc, ChemSoc and PhysSoc, and the result of months of planning and a lot of very hard work!  The organisers had seen other societies have balls and didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to dress up, socialise and have their own well-earned break from studying.

The organisers worked with Kent Union and a number of external contractors to create a special evening for their fellow students. The feel was classic, with a stylish colour theme of black, white and gold. There was a DJ, special-effect lighting, a mobile bar from Mungo’s, photo booth, and of course food, including southern fried chicken, falafel with tzatziki, potato wedges, fries and salad.

The evening was a huge success. 125 students attended and the dance floor was packed for most of the evening. Congratulations to all those who made it happen.
