Growing Kent and Medway

The School of Biosciences at the University of Kent, are part of the £18m bid led by East Malling Research (NIAB-EMR), termed Growing Kent & Medway.

The University is part of a new consortium working to develop a business case to strengthen Kent and Medway’s position as the UK’s leading region for the production and processing of high-value foods and plant-based compounds.

The National Fruit Show held at Detling recently, provided the opportunity for the consortium, Growing Kent & Medway to further engage with businesses in the horticultural production, food processing and technology sectors.

Head of School, Professor Colin Robinson, visited the show, giving his support and working with the bid partners on the day.
