Postgraduate Symposium 2013

The 20th Annual School of Biosciences Postgraduate Symposium lecture will be held on Monday 8 July from 17:00-18:00 in Biosciences Lecture Theatre 1. The lecture will be given by Professor Sir Philip Cohen FRS, FRSE.
Philip Cohen is Professor of Enzymology at the University of Dundee and founder of the Division of Signal Transduction Therapy, Europe’s largest collaboration between academia and the pharmaceutical industry. His own research has pioneered our understanding of “phosphorylation” a biological control mechanism that regulates most aspects of cell life and whose deregulation is the cause of major global diseases, such as arthritis, cancer and diabetes.
