The awards are given on the basis of overall academic excellence determined from information on application form, referee reports and interview for short-listed candidates.<\/p>\n<p>Awards are given out in September\/October and usually range between \u00a32,500 and \u00a36,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Only women doctoral students (PhD, DPhil or equivalent) at British universities (not Northern Ireland) who began full time doctoral studies between September 1 2011 and October 31 2012 (or the part time equivalent) are eligible to apply.<br \/>\nApplicants are expected to be at least temporarily resident in Britain.
