Athena SWAN Success at Kent

The results from the last Athena SWAN submission round (Spring 2018) have been announced this month and we are delighted to announce that four of our Schools were successful in securing Athena SWAN Bronze!

Five Schools submitted applications and four were awarded as follows:

Applied for Silver, awarded Bronze:

o   School of Engineering and Digital Arts

o   School of Psychology

o   School of Computing

o   School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research (first award)

Unfortunately, the School of Anthropology and Conservation’s Bronze submission was not successful this time around. We’ll support them with their re-submission in 2019. It is not straightforward or easy to get an award; overall the success rate for Bronze is 59%. Read more about the Athena SWAN submission and success rate statistics here.

These results bring the total number of Schools holding an Athena SWAN award to 9. The awards ceremony will be held at the University of Southampton on 10th December.

Congratulations to all!
