Car share bay trial supports aims of Athena SWAN

One of the issues identified in our Bronze Institutional Athena SWAN application was the parking difficulties faced by colleagues arriving on campus after 9.a.m due to childcare or caring commitments. As part of their work to encourage car sharing, the Estates Department has begun trialling designated car share bays within the Estates car park on the Canterbury campus. This will mean that if any of the 16 car share bays are not occupied by car-sharers by 9.30a.m, they will be available for anyone with a pink zone or car share parking permit arriving onto campus at that time.

The trial started on 11th October and the Estates team welcome any feedback to help assess the success of the trial and where improvements can be made.
