Do you want a career in the public sector?<\/h2>\n

Interested in a career that\u2019s rewarding and makes a difference?<\/p>\n

This is your chance to hear from Kent alumni, who work \/ have worked within Government, public bodies and local government, including the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, <\/strong>the Mayor’s Office for Policing And Crime (MOPAC), The British Army <\/strong>and Department for International Trade<\/strong>. They\u2019ll share their career backgrounds, experiences of working within the public sector and career tips, followed by a Q&A.<\/p>\n

\"\"Charles Dabbs<\/strong> – EU Foreign Policy Desk Officer, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office<\/p>\n

Charles graduated from Kent in 2020 with a BA(Hons) Politics and International Relations with a Year in Continental Europe. In October, he started a new role as EU Foreign Policy Desk Officer in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Prior to this, he was a WHO Policy Officer in the Department of Health and Social Care.<\/p>\n

Misha<\/strong> Upadhyaya<\/strong>– Head of Private Office and Secretariat at Mayor’s Office for Policing And Crime (MOPAC)<\/p>\n

Misha graduated from the University of Kent with a BSc, Politics and International Relations (2013) and an MSc, International Relations (2014). After graduation, she worked for Thames Valley Police and the NHS before joining the Mayor’s Office for Policing And Crime (MOPAC) in 2018. She is now an experienced and influential Chief of Staff\/Head of Private Office civil servant with a demonstrated history of working in government administration.<\/p>\n

\"\"Matt Hutson<\/strong> – British Army Officer – Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers<\/p>\n

Matt graduated from Kent in 2017 with a BSc in Psychology. He is now a British Army Officer in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, having been serving for almost 4 years. He is currently the Training Officer at 8 Training Battalion REME based at MOD Lyenham where he commands a team of military training instructors and oversees the delivery of a number of military qualifications to the Corps.<\/p>\n

\"\"Qudrat Khan<\/strong> – Press Secretary, Department for International Trade<\/p>\n

Qudrat is a 2017 University of Kent graduate from the School of Politics and International Relations and is now the Press Secretary to the Minister for Investment at the Department for International Trade in London.<\/p>\n
