{"id":4080,"date":"2022-10-03T17:22:54","date_gmt":"2022-10-03T16:22:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/aspirations\/?p=4080"},"modified":"2022-10-03T17:22:54","modified_gmt":"2022-10-03T16:22:54","slug":"black-in-academia-workshops-to-develop-black-academics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/aspirations\/2022\/10\/03\/black-in-academia-workshops-to-develop-black-academics\/","title":{"rendered":"Black in Academia &#8211; workshops to develop black academics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Kent has recently partnered with Leading Routes to deliver a series of events and workshops aimed at Black students, who would like to explore opportunities to continue studying and working in academia.<\/p>\n<p>Leading Routes is a pioneering initiative that aims to prepare the next generation of Black academics, by exploring new ways to strengthen the academic pipeline for African Caribbean students, from a Black-led perspective.<\/p>\n<p>Leading Routes are running a series of events and workshops at the University of Kent for students and staff over the coming months. These events and workshops are being promoted and managed by the GRC, please see below for the workshops currently scheduled:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/events\/event\/55978\/staying-the-course-accessing-postgraduate-research-undergraduate-students-canterbury-campus\">Staying the Course: Accessing postgraduate research (Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students &#8211; Canterbury Campus)<\/a> \u2013 19 October, 13:00 \u2013 15:00<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/events\/event\/55979\/staying-the-course-thriving-in-postgraduate-research-postgraduate-students-canterbury-campus\">Staying the Course: Thriving in postgraduate research (Postgraduate Students &#8211;
