{"id":3270,"date":"2022-04-20T13:45:02","date_gmt":"2022-04-20T12:45:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/aspirations\/?p=3270"},"modified":"2022-08-22T10:02:35","modified_gmt":"2022-08-22T09:02:35","slug":"one-year-post-graduate-job-scheme-for-psychology-graduates-working-with-primary-school-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/aspirations\/2022\/04\/20\/one-year-post-graduate-job-scheme-for-psychology-graduates-working-with-primary-school-children\/","title":{"rendered":"Post-graduate job opportunity for Psychology finalists or Educational Master&#8217;s students &#8211; apply by 17th August"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Calling all Psychology finalists or Educational Master&#8217;s students!<\/h2>\n<h3>Are you interested in a career in educational or developmental psychology?<\/h3>\n<p>A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a one year post-graduate role working at Two Bridges School &#8211; a pupil referral unit in Tunbridge Wells, Kent &#8211; working with primary school aged children.<\/p>\n<h3>Job Summary<\/h3>\n<p>To support Primary aged pupils referred by their mainstream schools to understand their behaviours and communicate their emotions through the delivery of psychologically based nurture sessions, supporting the Primary Focus Lead to build relationships with pupils and their families, equipping pupils with self-regulating strategies and resources to improve their emotional wellbeing and general behaviour in school and at home.<\/p>\n<p>This role is a one-year internship post that gives Psychology graduates valuable experience working within an educational setting.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"xmsonormal\">Full time (term time only) &#8211; paid opportunity (starting Sept 2022)<\/h3>\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\">Working alongside the programme lead on the <strong>Primary Focus programme<\/strong>, a nurture-based programme for primary school aged pupils.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\">You will gain direct valuable experience working with children in an educational setting, and\u00a0 also receive careers advice and guidance.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"xmsonormal\">About the Primary Focus programme:<\/h3>\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\">We are a non-curriculum nurture-based setting, aiming to equip Primary aged pupils with social and emotional tools and strategies to use effectively at school and home, helping them to develop positive relationships and increase their sense of security and emotional wellbeing in the process.
