{"id":1266,"date":"2018-12-06T10:54:38","date_gmt":"2018-12-06T10:54:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/aspirations\/?p=1266"},"modified":"2021-05-24T16:43:55","modified_gmt":"2021-05-24T15:43:55","slug":"kent-open-day-at-dechert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/aspirations\/2018\/12\/06\/kent-open-day-at-dechert\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent Open Day at Dechert"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Kent Open Day at Dechert<br \/>\nFriday 18<sup>th<\/sup> January 2019<\/h2>\n<p>Kent-only Open Day at Global law firm Dechert on 18<sup>th<\/sup> January.\u00a0\u00a0 The Open Day will include an insight into the firm and what they do, including their training contracts; a skills session; and, networking with trainees, partners, graduate recruitment team.<\/p>\n<p>This is an ordinary open day but exclusively available to students from Kent <strong>(and that includes non-law students too)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Eligibility:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open to:\n<ul>\n<li>Any <strong>final year<\/strong> student on any degree\/PG degree at the University of Kent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Must <strong>not <\/strong>be a qualified lawyer (in any jurisdiction)<\/li>\n<li>Must be <strong>on track for a 2.1<\/strong> degree and have <strong>AAB grades at A level<\/strong> (or equivalent).\u00a0 <em>Real<\/em> mitigation for slightly lower grades will be taken into account.\u00a0 If you wish this to be considered please supply information with your application.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Genuine interest<\/strong> in the type of work that Dechert does.\u00a0 Some of their main areas are corporate securities, investment funds, litigation, white-collar crime.<\/li>\n<li>You must be <strong>commercially astute<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>International students may apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your travel costs, up to \u00a375, will be reimbursed by Dechert.
