The aim of this 12-month programme is to provide work experience, employability support and guidance to individuals from communities that are currently under-represented in the House of Commons\u2019 graduate level workforce. The programme is advertised under section 158 of the Equality Act 2010<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recruitment Timetable<\/strong><br \/>\nClosing Date 13th July<br \/>\nTelephone interviews: w\/c 23rd and w\/c 30th July<br \/>\nPanel Interviews at the house of commons w\/c 20th and w\/c 27th August<br \/>\nInternships begin 1st November 2018<\/p>\n<p>The Programme is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to secure full-time graduate level positions in Parliament on completion of the Programme. You\u2019ll be performing public administrative duties that require a broad spectrum of skills and knowledge and above all passion for public service and government.<\/p>\n<p>While you may feel that you do not have direct experience of the types of work described in the job descriptions, your particular experiences may be highly relevant if they have given you the capacity to develop the required skills. If appointed, you will be supported in developing specific skills and knowledge that are required for these roles. You are not expected to know everything about the work of Parliament or know how to perform unfamiliar tasks without some training, support, and supervision in the early stages.<\/p>\n<p>There are three, 12-month, paid internships on offer starting on 1 November 2018.\u00a0 Two will be based in the Chamber and Committees Team (CCT), supporting the work of Select Committee inquiries. These roles will require well-developed research and report writing skills as well as the ability to learn and adapt to procedures.\u00a0 The other role will be based in the Members\u2019 Hub which supports MPs by providing corporate services (e.g. HR, facilities, transport, expenses etc). This role requires someone with an interest in public administration, HR, Change Management or Project Management.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXO102854931\" lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXO102854931\">Step is managing the application and initial selection process on behalf of the Authority. Your application will only be considered for either the Inquiry Manager OR the Hub Manager, not both.
