POLITRIP 2020

Politrip specialises in organising short-term volunteer placements on international political campaigns. It is the ultimate experience for political enthusiasts; providing students, graduates, young professionals and any politically minded individual the chance to immerse themselves in political campaigning across the world. It gives you the chance to be on the frontlines of a political campaign, travel, meet new friends and develop valuable skills and experience.

Between July 2019 and November 2020, Politrip are hosting three once-in-a-lifetime trips during the 2020 US Presidential campaign. We’ll be following the race all the way from the start of the Democratic Primary in Iowa, to the victory speech of the next US President. We have opportunities available in 11 states including Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania, California and more! After a successful launch in February 2019, places are now full for our July 2019 trip to Des Moines, Iowa, however, there are still several trips available for politicos looking to experience the excitement of a US Presidential election!

The application process is still open for the Summer and Autumn 2020 Politrips! If you’re interested in taking part, please visit www.politrip.org to apply. It’s important to note that places are limited, so make sure to apply as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment. Prices for our trips start from £750 for a 2-week trip, and £1200 for one month, which includes: all accommodation, ground transportation, a weekend away in a major city, pre-departure training & support, organisation of your placement and much more!

Once you’ve secured your place with a deposit, you can pay your Politrip fee in instalments from as little as £32 per month. We also have a competitive bursary scheme available for individuals from low-income backgrounds. More details on costs & inclusions are available on our website.

We can also help you identify any funding opportunities available from your university to help with the cost of your trip.

Please see the attached poster for more information on our trips or contact us on hello@politrip.org at any time to find out more! You can also follow us on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

Q-Step Summer School

Have you thought about signing up for the 2019 Q-Step summer school?

It runs from Monday 17th June to Friday 28th June 2019 and is free to first year students in SSPSSR, Law and POLIR who have the potential to convert to a ‘with Quantitative Research’ minor degree in their second year.

You will receive free accommodation in Park Wood for the duration of the course plus two weeks’ teaching and tutoring and some meals at social events. We ask for a £50 deposit to reserve your place but this is refunded on completion of the course. If you decide that Q-Step isn’t for you, there is no obligation to convert at the end of the course.

Employers in many sectors seek graduates with quantitative skills; this course offers a unique opportunity to boost your employability. The course is a 15 credit (non-contributory) module, and it will appear on your transcripts making you very competitive on the job market.

This is a fun and challenging course. You will be working intensively alongside other students from a range of disciplines to complete a real piece of social scientific research. The topic for 2019 is Race and Ethnicity.

To register for the course, please visit the website.
