The successful applicant would be based primarily at\u00a0<b>Sir Frederick Gibberd College<\/b>\u00a0in Harlow, Essex \u2013 just a half hour train journey from central London \u2013 while completing their teaching training degree with University of East London.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Sir Frederick Gibberd College\u2019s fast-flourishing Classics Department, teaching Latin and Classical Civilisation across GCSE and A Level. In 2021\/22, we have taught Latin to more than 230 students across Key Stage 3 following the much-loved Cambridge Latin Course. We plan to increase this number ten-fold over the coming years while our school continues to grow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">From September 2022, there will be opportunities to teach:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\">Key Stage 3 Latin<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\">Key Stage 4 Latin (GCSE)<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\">Key Stage 4 Classical Civilisation (GCSE)<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\">Key Stage 5 Classical Civilisation (A Level)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">While the PGCE training is non-salaried, there are government bursaries available to support the successful applicant during the programme. However, they\u00a0<b>must<\/b>\u00a0hold an academic qualification or background in Ancient languages (NB: SFG requires Latin) in order to be eligible.
