We are recruiting for a number of PGCE schools direct placements for Secondary Classics in academic year 2022\/23. The successful applicant would be based primarily at\u00a0Sir Frederick Gibberd College<\/b>\u00a0in Harlow, Essex \u2013 just a half hour train journey from central London \u2013 while completing their teaching training degree with University of East London.<\/p>\n
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Sir Frederick Gibberd College\u2019s fast-flourishing Classics Department, teaching Latin and Classical Civilisation across GCSE and A Level. In 2021\/22, we have taught Latin to more than 230 students across Key Stage 3 following the much-loved Cambridge Latin Course. We plan to increase this number ten-fold over the coming years while our school continues to grow.<\/p>\n

While the PGCE training is non-salaried, there are government bursaries available to support the successful applicant during the programme.
