{"id":977,"date":"2015-08-14T15:15:31","date_gmt":"2015-08-14T14:15:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=977"},"modified":"2015-08-17T17:28:52","modified_gmt":"2015-08-17T16:28:52","slug":"register-now-for-new-york-trip-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2015\/08\/14\/register-now-for-new-york-trip-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Register Now for New York Trip 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following the huge success of previous School of Arts trips, we will once again be organising an excursion to <strong>New York<\/strong> in February 2016!<\/p>\n<p>The trip is open to <strong>all current School of Arts undergraduate and postgraduate students<\/strong> and is designed to provide you with an opportunity to explore the famous city and enhance your learning experience outside of lectures and seminars. For example, Drama and Film scholars will find the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nypl.org\/locations\/divisions\/billy-rose-theatre-division\">Bill Rose Theatre Collection<\/a> in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nypl.org\/locations\/divisions\/moving-image-and-recorded-sound-division\">NY Public Library, <\/a>an outstanding resource. Film scholars with a more avant-garde bent will want for nothing at <a href=\"http:\/\/anthologyfilmarchives.org\/\">Anthology Film Archive<\/a> set up by J. Mekas, and outside of the Getty there can be no better place in the world to carry out Art History research than amongst all the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moma.org\/learn\/resources\/archives\/index\">city\u2019s art holdings.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in experiencing the cultural delights of the \u2018Big Apple\u2019 with your fellow students then please read on to find out a little bit more about our plans.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Details so far:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>DATES: <\/strong>1<sup>st<\/sup> \u2013 7<sup>th<\/sup> February 2015 (5 nights \/ 6 days \u2013 departing NYC on 6<sup>th<\/sup> and arriving back in London on 7<sup>th<\/sup>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>FLIGHTS: <\/strong>Return London Heathrow to New York JFK<\/p>\n<p><strong>TRANSFERS: <\/strong>Return airport transfers both in the UK and New York<\/p>\n<p><strong>ACCOMODATION: <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hinewyork.org\">Hostelling International New York\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>BOARD: <\/strong>Room only accommodation \/ Multi-bedded dorm rooms<\/p>\n<p><strong>COST: <\/strong>\u00a3860 which includes accommodation, airport transfers and flights<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The total price of the trip is currently an expected maximum quote as the final price is dependent on the number of students signing up and the amount of subsidy received from other University funds.
