Installation<\/p>\n<p><span data-ogsc=\"black\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ogsc=\"black\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/people\/3511\/kalyva-eve#about\">Dr Eve Kalyva,<\/a> Lecturer in Art History, has received funding from the Society for Latin American Studies for a two-day event entitled \u2018<em>Working with the Works of Leon Ferrari\u2019<\/em><em>. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ogsc=\"black\">Taking place on 8 and <span dir=\"ltr\">9 December<\/span>, this interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral event showcases the expansive oeuvre of renowned Argentine artist Le\u00f3n Ferrari, and his multifaceted artistic practice, as well as its resonance in today\u2019s context. It negotiates key issues in the study of Latin American art and culture and brings together art historians, museum professionals, curators and conservators. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ogsc=\"black\">On the first day, Dr Kalyva will be hosting a workshop at the Tate Modern, which will offer a first-hand experience of Ferrari\u2019s work. This will be followed on the second day by an online symposium, examining the challenges in presenting, conserving, and framing some of Ferrari\u2019s key works across conceptual, institutional, cultural and political contexts. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ogsc=\"black\">&#8216;I&#8217;m very pleased to be able to introduce the work of Ferrari to wider audiences,\u2019 says Dr Kalyva in the run up to the event. \u2018The Tate has a considerable collection of his art, and it deserves closer attention.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ogsc=\"black\">\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-ogsc=\"black\">Bookings and further information<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span data-ogsc=\"black\">\u00a0<\/span><i>Part 1: Workshop at the Tate Modern<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The Tate Modern workshop will be held <span dir=\"ltr\">between 11.00 and 16.00 on Wednesday 8 December<\/span> 11.00-16.00; if you would like to attend, please contact Dr Kalyva (<a href=\"mailto:e.m.kalyva@kent.ac.uk\">e.m.kalyva@kent.ac.uk<\/a>) directly.
