{"id":3782,"date":"2020-06-18T09:16:37","date_gmt":"2020-06-18T08:16:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=3782"},"modified":"2020-07-01T13:30:05","modified_gmt":"2020-07-01T12:30:05","slug":"canterbury-university-film-festival-2020-goes-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2020\/06\/18\/canterbury-university-film-festival-2020-goes-online\/","title":{"rendered":"Canterbury University Film Festival 2020 goes online"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2020 <a href=\"https:\/\/cufffilmfestival.com\/\">Canterbury University Film Festival<\/a> (CUFF) will be held this weekend, on Saturday 20 June 2020 at 3pm.<\/p>\n<p>CUFF is an independent festival that provides an opportunity for students from all three universities in Canterbury \u2013 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/\">University of Kent<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/canterbury.ac.uk\/\">Canterbury Christ Church University<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uca.ac.uk\/life-at-uca\/locations\/canterbury\/\">University for the Creative Arts<\/a> \u2013 to come together through their love of filmmaking. This year\u2019s festival will be streamed online due to the COVID-19 lockdown.<\/p>\n<p>Students from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/film.html\">Department of Film<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/\">School of Arts<\/a> who are featuring in this year\u2019s selection include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oliver Finlinson,\u00a0who studying his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/undergraduate\/102\/film-with-a-placement-year\">BA (Hons) in Film with a Placement Year<\/a>, with the film <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/news\/3690\/film-student-short-selected-for-six-international-film-festivals\"><em>Acid Rain<\/em><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Jamie Reeves, on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/undergraduate\/99\/film\">BA (Hons) in Film<\/a>, with the film <em>RedYellowBlue<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Jacob Short, on the BA (Hons) in Film, with the film <em>Auto Pilot\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Marko Steinberg, on the BA (Hons) in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/undergraduate\/268\/comparative-literature-and-film\">Film with Comparative Literature<\/a>, with the film <em>Forking Paths<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Christine Ubochi on the BA (Hons) in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/undergraduate\/163\/drama-and-english-literature\">Drama with English Literature<\/a>, with the film <em>Routine<\/em><\/li>\n<li>And finally, a collaboration between BA (Hons) in Film students Kiyan Agadjani, Sam Hayes, Asher Melville and Niall Murphy, with the film <em>Lotuseater.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The festival has been co-organised by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/postgraduate\/17\/film\">MA in Film<\/a> student Catherine Lawler.<\/p>\n<p>The link to view the festival will be streamed on YouTube here:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SeWj4J-r8y0\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SeWj4J-r8y0<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"kent-video-wrapper\"><span class='embed-youtube' style='text-align:center; display: block;'><iframe class='youtube-player' type='text\/html' width='1140' height='672' src='https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SeWj4J-r8y0?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;fs=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;wmode=transparent' frameborder='0' allowfullscreen='true'><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2020 Canterbury University Film Festival (CUFF) will be held this weekend, on Saturday 20 June 2020 at 3pm.
