{"id":3260,"date":"2020-01-30T12:34:32","date_gmt":"2020-01-30T12:34:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=3260"},"modified":"2020-01-30T12:34:32","modified_gmt":"2020-01-30T12:34:32","slug":"rome-event-new-perspectives-on-raphaels-stanza-di-eliodoro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2020\/01\/30\/rome-event-new-perspectives-on-raphaels-stanza-di-eliodoro\/","title":{"rendered":"Rome event &#8211; New Perspectives on Raphael&#8217;s Stanza di Eliodoro"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"field field-name-field-featured-copy field-type-text-long field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"container-title\">\n<div class=\"ds-title\">\n<div class=\"field field-name-title field-type-ds field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/people\/2151\/henry-tom\">Professor Tom Henry<\/a>, Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/rome\/\">Rome School of Classical and Renaissance Studies<\/a> and Professor of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/subjects\/history-of-art\">History of Art<\/a>, and Kostas Gravanis, currently studying for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/postgraduate\/100\/history-and-philosophy-of-art\">PhD in History and Philosophy of Art<\/a>, will take part in a symposium in Rome in February, entitled \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/aur.edu\/events\/new-perspectives-raphaels-stanza-di-eliodoro\">New Perspectives on the Stanza di Eliodoro<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The event, organised by the University of Kent\u2019s Rome School of Classical and Renaissance Studies in conjunction with <a href=\"https:\/\/aur.edu\/\">The American University of Rome<\/a>, will explore new perspectives regarding the decoration of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.museivaticani.va\/content\/museivaticani\/en\/collezioni\/musei\/stanze-di-raffaello\/stanza-di-eliodoro\/stanza-di-eliodoro.html\">Stanza di Eliodoro<\/a> in the Vatican Palace, to mark the 500<span style=\"font-size: 10.5px\">th<\/span>\u00a0anniversary of the death of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgallery.org.uk\/artists\/raphael\">Raphael<\/a> (1483-1520).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\">\n<p>Short papers will be presented by Tom\u00a0 and Kostas, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/aur.edu\/node\/217\">Professor Paul Gwynne, <\/a>Professor of Medieval and Renaissance Studies at The American University of Rome, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/rome\/people\/profiles\/academic\/malfa-claudia.html\">Dr Claudia La Malfa, <\/a>Visiting Lecturer at the University of Kent, and Adjunct Professor of History of Art at The American University of Rome.
