{"id":3185,"date":"2019-12-09T13:07:41","date_gmt":"2019-12-09T13:07:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=3185"},"modified":"2019-12-17T14:28:15","modified_gmt":"2019-12-17T14:28:15","slug":"two-nights-of-alternative-cabaret-starting-tonight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2019\/12\/09\/two-nights-of-alternative-cabaret-starting-tonight\/","title":{"rendered":"Two nights of Alternative Cabaret starting tonight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Second-year students on the module <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/modules\/module\/DR594\">Popular Performance<\/a> will be performing two evenings of \u2018Alternative Cabaret\u2019, beginning this evening on Monday 9 December 2019 in the <a href=\"https:\/\/thegulbenkian.co.uk\/\">Gulbenkian Caf\u00e9<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The evening will consist of stand-up comedy, double acts, ranting\/dub poetry, sketches and bizarre speciality acts in tribute to the alternative comedy scene of the 1980s. If you\u2019re a fan of Rik Mayall, Benjamin Zephaniah or French &amp; Saunders, this show is for you.<\/p>\n<p>The cabaret is suitable for those aged 18+.
