{"id":3121,"date":"2019-12-03T09:11:12","date_gmt":"2019-12-03T09:11:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=3121"},"modified":"2020-03-11T17:00:36","modified_gmt":"2020-03-11T17:00:36","slug":"new-studio-3-exhibition-dereks-room","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2019\/12\/03\/new-studio-3-exhibition-dereks-room\/","title":{"rendered":"New Studio 3 exhibition: Derek&#8217;s Room"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/studio3gallery\/\">Studio 3 Gallery<\/a> at the School of Arts will be running a new exhibition, entitled <em>Derek&#8217;s Room<\/em>, from Wednesday 4 December to Saturday 7 December 2019, 10am to 5pm.<\/p>\n<p><em>Derek\u2019s Room<\/em> is the first juried open submission exhibition in Studio 3 Gallery, and aims to display the rich variety of creative practice blooming in Kent: from painting, sculpture, and photography, to performance, textile, poetry and digital media.The opening night of the exhibition will be held on Tuesday 3 December 2019 from 5pm, and will feature live performances.<\/p>\n<p>This first presentation of <em>Derek\u2019s Room<\/em> is organised by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/people\/technical-staff\/gallery-coordinator-and-outreach-coordinator.html\">Dr Eleen M Deprez<\/a>, Curator of Studio 3 Gallery; Callum Foad and Alice Richardson, currently studying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/postgraduate\/97\/history-and-philosophy-of-art\">MA History and Philosophy of Art<\/a>; Yannis Grimm, currently studying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/undergraduate\/114\/drama-and-theatre\">BA (Hons) Drama and Theatre<\/a>; Emily Harman, currently studying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/undergraduate\/95\/art-history\">BA (Hons) Art History<\/a>; Debbie Patterson, a Kent alumna; and Kostas Xanthopoulos, currently studying BA (Hons) Multimedia Technology and Design.<\/p>\n<p>The artists whose work features in the exhibition include Kent students, staff and alumni as well as the general public.
