{"id":3099,"date":"2019-11-19T14:43:40","date_gmt":"2019-11-19T14:43:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=3099"},"modified":"2019-11-22T19:39:08","modified_gmt":"2019-11-22T19:39:08","slug":"fashion-show-spill-in-studio-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2019\/11\/19\/fashion-show-spill-in-studio-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Fashion shows in Studio 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Students on the module <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/modules\/module\/ART502\">ART502 \u2013 Costume and Fashion<\/a> will be hosting a fashion shows in the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/studio3gallery\/\">Studio 3 Gallery<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/\">School of Arts<\/a> on Wednesday 20 November 2019, entitled &#8217;20&#8217;, \u2018SPILL\u2019 and &#8216;Juggernaut&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>20 will explore the roaring 1920s from the perspective of the 2020s.<\/p>\n<p>SPILL will draw attention to the excessive amount of clothing we purchase, we waste and we hardly wear. This is a problem with our understanding of clothing\u2019s value; our understanding of the planet\u2019s groaning climate crisis. Our greed.\u00a0The SPILL project battles consumerism and fast fashion. It battles waste, and it battles over-production. We are fighting our gluttonous natures, one outfit at a time.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of Juggernaut is youth and freedom in a post-apocalyptic world where social conventions don\u2019t matter anymore.<\/p>\n<p>The show will begin at 5pm.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE.
