{"id":2685,"date":"2019-07-30T15:26:28","date_gmt":"2019-07-30T14:26:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=2685"},"modified":"2019-07-30T15:26:28","modified_gmt":"2019-07-30T14:26:28","slug":"launch-of-new-media-studies-programmes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2019\/07\/30\/launch-of-new-media-studies-programmes\/","title":{"rendered":"Launch of new Media Studies programmes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/\">School of Arts<\/a> is pleased to announce the launch of three new joint honours programmes joining the single honours <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/undergraduate\/1901\/media-studies\">Media Studies BA (Hons)<\/a> programme<\/p>\n<p>Media Studies is a relatively new subject area at Kent, launched in 2017. The next academic year 2019\/2020 will see our first students graduating from the programme.<\/p>\n<p>The new programmes build on the success of Media Studies, combining them with other subjects offered by the School of Arts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/undergraduate\/3761\/art-history-media-studies\">Art History and Media Studies &#8211; BA (Hons) at Canterbury<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/undergraduate\/3762\/drama-media-studies\">Drama and Media Studies &#8211; BA (Hons) at Canterbury<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/undergraduate\/3763\/film-media-studies\">Film and Media Studies &#8211; BA (Hons) at Canterbury<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/people\/academic-staff\/frey.html\">Professor Mattias Frey<\/a>, Head of Film and Media Studies, said: \u2018We are delighted to be offering the three new degrees.
