{"id":2419,"date":"2019-05-24T11:25:09","date_gmt":"2019-05-24T10:25:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=2419"},"modified":"2019-10-03T10:55:05","modified_gmt":"2019-10-03T09:55:05","slug":"alumnus-and-comedian-matt-hoss-at-the-gulb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2019\/05\/24\/alumnus-and-comedian-matt-hoss-at-the-gulb\/","title":{"rendered":"Alumnus and comedian Matt Hoss at the Gulb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alumnus <a href=\"http:\/\/www.matthosscomedy.com\/\">Matt Hoss<\/a>, who graduated from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/drama.html\">Department of Drama and Theatre<\/a> with a BA (Hons) in Classical &amp; Archaeological Studies and Drama in 2015 and an MA in Stand-Up Comedy in 2016, will be performing a gig at <a href=\"https:\/\/thegulbenkian.co.uk\/\">The Gulbenkian<\/a>, the on-campus theatre and cinema, on Thursday 30 May 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Matt\u2019s emotionally honest and hilarious show discusses romance, awkward sex and heart-warming tales of failing in love. Matt retells his raw stories of bad dates, cringeworthy displays of affection and his intense, personable and authentic relationship with finding \u2018The One\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of his time at Kent, Matt said: \u2018After studying stand-up at the University Of Kent, it allowed me to find my comedic voice, develop my anarchic inner clown and become an engaging storyteller. With all of those skills, I was able to go on to be a professional comedian and create my debut <a href=\"https:\/\/edinburghfestival.list.co.uk\/event\/1271792-matt-hoss-here-comes-your-man\/\">EdFringe hour<\/a>, and gave me the tools to produce a show of which I&#8217;m really proud of, The University Of Kent course allowed me to hone in and make me into the best performer I can\u00a0 be.
