{"id":2413,"date":"2019-05-23T11:00:52","date_gmt":"2019-05-23T10:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=2413"},"modified":"2019-05-23T11:09:58","modified_gmt":"2019-05-23T10:09:58","slug":"art-history-students-win-kent-arts-investment-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2019\/05\/23\/art-history-students-win-kent-arts-investment-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"Art History students win Kent Arts Investment Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following on from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/newsandevents\/index.html?view=2387\">successfully organising the exhibition<\/a> &#8216;The Female Nude: Ways of Seeing&#8217;, students from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/hpa.html\">Department of the History of Art<\/a> have won a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.gov.uk\/leisure-and-community\/arts\/arts-investment-fund\">Kent Arts Investment Fund<\/a>\u00a0award from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.gov.uk\/\">Kent County Council<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The Female Nude\u2019 was organised as part of the module &#8216;Print Collecting and Curating&#8217;, and the funds will contribute to the costs of hosting a series of events associated with the exhibition, including special talks with artist Iwona Abrams and art historian and writer Frances Borzello. In addition, the extra funding will allow us to make a more substantial acquisition for the Kent Print Collection.<\/p>\n<p>Rebecca Hardy, one of the co-organisers of the exhibition, said: \u2018We feel very excited and proud at obtaining this funding. The module has been a brilliant practical learning experience, allowing us to gain a wide range of skills and implementing them into the \u2018real-world\u2019.
