{"id":2376,"date":"2019-05-07T14:04:08","date_gmt":"2019-05-07T13:04:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=2376"},"modified":"2019-05-22T13:43:55","modified_gmt":"2019-05-22T12:43:55","slug":"kaitlyn-regeher-hosts-podcast-series-on-the-benefits-of-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2019\/05\/07\/kaitlyn-regeher-hosts-podcast-series-on-the-benefits-of-research\/","title":{"rendered":"Kaitlyn Regeher hosts podcast series on the benefits of research"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/people\/academic-staff\/regehr.html\">Dr Kaitlyn Regehr<\/a>, Lecturer in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/media.html\">Media Studies<\/a>, will be hosting a new podcast series entitled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.howresearchers.com\/\">How Researchers Change the World<\/a>, launching today, 7 May 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The series, which is supported by the publisher <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/\">Taylor &amp; Francis<\/a>, will release a new episode every two weeks, and will cover topics as diverse as new technology, the impact of social media, virtual reality, climate change, artificial intelligence, and gender studies.<\/p>\n<p>Every episode will follow the story of one passionate researcher and their journey from the initial spark of an idea through to world-changing findings.<\/p>\n<p>The first instalment tells the story of Dr Orii McDermott, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Mental Health, University of Nottingham, whose work as a music therapist gave her an awareness of the research needed to enhance her own practice and to improve the lives of her patients, people living with dementia.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of the series, Kaitlyn said: \u2018I am thrilled to be working on this innovative project with the amazing team at <a href=\"https:\/\/monchu.uk\/\">Monchu<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbbc.biz\/\">WBBC<\/a> as well as with Taylor &amp; Francis, a publisher dedicated to supporting researchers \u00a0at all stages of their careers.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The podcasts will be available on <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/\">Spotify<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/uk\/itunes\/podcasts\/\">Apple Podcasts<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stitcher.com\/\">Sticher<\/a>.
