{"id":2210,"date":"2019-03-22T09:10:19","date_gmt":"2019-03-22T09:10:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=2210"},"modified":"2019-10-03T11:01:45","modified_gmt":"2019-10-03T10:01:45","slug":"canterbury-university-film-festival-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2019\/03\/22\/canterbury-university-film-festival-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Canterbury University Film Festival 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/cufffilmfestival.com\/\">Canterbury University Film Festival<\/a> (CUFF) will be held this weekend; 23 and 24 March 2019.<\/p>\n<p>CUFF is an independent festival that provides an opportunity for students from all three universities in Canterbury \u2013 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/\">University of Kent<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/canterbury.ac.uk\/\">Canterbury Christ Church University<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uca.ac.uk\/life-at-uca\/locations\/canterbury\/\">University for the Creative Arts<\/a> \u2013 to come together through their love of filmmaking. The festival will see a series of short films screened at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.curzoncinemas.com\/canterbury\/info\">Curzon Cinema<\/a> in Canterbury on the Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Students and alumni from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/film.html\">Department of Film<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/\">School of Arts<\/a> who are featuring in this year\u2019s selection include Harry Nott, who graduated with an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/postgraduate\/343\/film-with-practice\">MA in Film with Practice<\/a> in 2017; Bruce Parleton, who graduated with an MA in Film with Practice in 2018; Alexander Vanegus Sus, Nimasu Namsaren and Lorenzo Gianni, who are currently studying for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/undergraduate\/99\/film\">BA (Hons) in Film<\/a>; Henry Davies, who graduated with his BA (Hons) in Film in 2015; and Daisy Reece who graduated with her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/undergraduate\/101\/film-with-a-year-abroad\">BA (Hons) in Film with a Year Abroad<\/a> in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, there will be a panel discussing the process of developing from student to professional filmmaker at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waterstones.com\/bookshops\/canterbury-rose-lane\">Waterstones Rose Lane<\/a> in Canterbury at 6pm.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, the screenings of student\/alumni films at the Curzon will begin at 10am and will run until 1pm.
