{"id":1849,"date":"2018-12-13T11:46:19","date_gmt":"2018-12-13T11:46:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=1849"},"modified":"2019-11-15T17:44:58","modified_gmt":"2019-11-15T17:44:58","slug":"paul-allain-wins-witkacy-prize","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2018\/12\/13\/paul-allain-wins-witkacy-prize\/","title":{"rendered":"Paul Allain wins Witkacy Prize"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/people\/academic-staff\/allain.html\">Paul Allain<\/a>, Professor of Theatre and Performance in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/index.html\">School of Arts<\/a> and Dean of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/graduateschool\/\">Graduate School<\/a>, has been awarded the Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz (Witkacy) Prize for promoting Polish theatre abroad.<\/p>\n<p>The Witkacy Prize is a major prize awarded by the Polish International Theatre Institute (ITI).<\/p>\n<p>The prize is named in honour of the eccentric Polish philosopher, writer and dramatist Stanis\u0142aw Ignacy Witkiewicz, otherwise known as Witkacy.<\/p>\n<p>Paul said that it \u2018was a great honour\u2019 to be given this recognition.
