{"id":1822,"date":"2018-12-05T16:28:25","date_gmt":"2018-12-05T16:28:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=1822"},"modified":"2019-11-15T17:43:34","modified_gmt":"2019-11-15T17:43:34","slug":"margherita-laera-to-lead-translation-workshop-on-francesca-garolla","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2018\/12\/05\/margherita-laera-to-lead-translation-workshop-on-francesca-garolla\/","title":{"rendered":"Margherita Laera to lead translation workshop on Francesca Garolla"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/people\/academic-staff\/laera.html\">Dr Margherita Laera<\/a>, Senior Lecturer in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/drama.html\">Drama and Theatre<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/index.html\">School of Arts<\/a>, will be in Milan to lead a translation workshop to translate the award-winning play <em>Tu es Libre<\/em> by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fabulamundi.eu\/en\/francesca-garolla\/\">Francesca Garolla<\/a> from Italian into English, from Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 December 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The play investigates the themes of freedom and war through the story of the sudden disappearance of French girl Haner Rouger from her Paris home. The workshop was commissioned by EU-funded Creative Europe project <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fabulamundi.eu\/en\/project\/\">Fabulamundi \u2013 Playwriting Europe Beyond Borders<\/a> to promote the play overseas.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Laera will collaborate with the author and several young playwrights from Milan on the English-language version of the script. The play is currently being performed in Milan until tomorrow night at <em>Teatro i<\/em>:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.teatroi.org\/opere\/tu-es-libre\/\">www.teatroi.org\/opere\/tu-es-libre\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The translated text will subsequently be available from Fabulamundi.
