{"id":1581,"date":"2018-04-10T12:36:08","date_gmt":"2018-04-10T11:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=1581"},"modified":"2018-04-10T12:36:08","modified_gmt":"2018-04-10T11:36:08","slug":"tessa-grant-awarded-to-dr-lavinia-brydon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2018\/04\/10\/tessa-grant-awarded-to-dr-lavinia-brydon\/","title":{"rendered":"TESSA grant awarded to Dr Lavinia Brydon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A huge congratulations to Dr Lavinia Bryon for being awarded a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/teaching\/TESSAs\/index.html\">TESSA<\/a> grant which will be used in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/thegulbenkian.co.uk\/?start_date=&amp;end_date=\">the Gulbenkian<\/a> to create a &#8216;live cinema&#8217; festival in the summer term called <em>Beyond the Gulbenkian.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Live cinema&#8217; is an umbrella term for experiential cinema events, such as outdoor screenings, sing-a-longs and director Q&amp;As.<\/p>\n<p>Led by students on the module Beyond Cinema, the festival will showcase their ideas for experiential screening events using spaces and resources at the Canterbury campus. The key dates are Wednesday 13th &#8211; Friday 15th June.<\/p>\n<p>The main aim of the project is to enhance and celebrate student learning on the module Beyond Cinema, which considers the changing nature of where,\u00a0when\u00a0and how audiences engage with\u00a0film and the moving image.\u00a0It will allow the\u00a0third-year students\u00a0to put their learning into practice, further developing transferable skills and grant them the beginning of a programming\/curatorial portfolio prior to graduation.
