No longer sitting quietly in the dark, we have been pulled in and invited to take part.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the University of Kent&#8217;s\u00a0<i>Lifting the Curtain<\/i>\u00a0event series, this two-day encounter at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ica.org.uk\/?lid=38997\">Institute of Contemporary Arts<\/a> brought together artists, academics and audiences in a shared exploration of the new trend. The event was co-facilitated by performance company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.accidentalcollective.co.uk\/\">Accidental Collective<\/a>, Chris Johnston (Argument Room\/Rideout) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/staff-profiles\/profiles\/main\/radosavljevic.html\">Du\u0161ka Radosavljevi\u0107<\/a> (University of Kent lecturer in Drama and Theatre), and it was generously supported by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kiash\/\">KIASH<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/arts\/research\/ETRN\/index.html\">ETRN<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/ckp\/\">CKP<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One interesting segment of the discussion featuring David Edgar (playwright), Annette Mees (Coney) and Jake Orr (A Younger Theatre) can be viewed on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theargumentroom.net\/\">Argument Room<\/a> website.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>More information on the event can be found on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ica.org.uk\/?lid=38997\">ICA website<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As audiences today, we increasingly find that our input has become indispensible to the process of performance-making.
