{"id":1104,"date":"2016-02-03T15:15:55","date_gmt":"2016-02-03T15:15:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/?p=1104"},"modified":"2016-02-03T15:19:00","modified_gmt":"2016-02-03T15:19:00","slug":"taught-ma-in-paris-scholarships-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/arts-news\/2016\/02\/03\/taught-ma-in-paris-scholarships-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"Taught MA in Paris Scholarships Announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Kent, Paris is pleased to announce a scholarship fund worth \u00a325,000 for taught Master\u2019s students studying during the academic year 2016\u201317.<\/p>\n<p>Please find below the conditions and criteria of the scholarship fund and how to apply.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conditions and Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The scholarship fund is open to applicants who have been offered a place on any of the Kent, Paris MA programmes <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/paris\/programmes\/index.html\">http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/paris\/programmes\/index.html<\/a> for the academic year starting in September 2016, whether split-site (Canterbury and Paris) or Paris only.<\/li>\n<li>It is open only to applicants intending to study full-time.<\/li>\n<li>UK, EU and overseas fee paying students are all eligible.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates will be assessed on academic excellence, and will usually hold by July 2016 a first-class Bachelor\u2019s degree in a relevant subject, or hold by July 2016 an equivalent non-UK qualification or a Master\u2019s degree at merit or distinction in a relevant subject or equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>Paris Scholarships to the value of \u00a35,000 will be awarded to outstanding applicants able to demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, clear intellectual ambition and the potential to make a strong contribution to their chosen MA programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Candidates must have received a conditional or unconditional offer of a place on one of the Kent, Paris programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates must send a <em>letter of motivation<\/em>, not exceeding 500 words, stating why they wish to join their chosen Kent, Paris MA programme and how this fits into their longer term plans.<\/li>\n<li>The letter of motivation should be saved with the following file name: \u201cFirstnameSURNAME_application number_letter of motivation\u201d, for example:\u00a0CatherineWOOD_123456789_letter of motivation.doc<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The letter should be addressed to the Academic Director of Paris programmes and sent by email to <a href=\"mailto:paris@kent.ac.uk\">paris@kent.ac.uk<\/a> with the subject line: \u201cScholarship application Firstname SURNAME application number<em>\u201d, <\/em>for example:\u00a0Scholarship application Catherine WOOD 123456789<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The opening date for accepting applications is Friday 1 April 2016.\u00a0 <strong>Please do not send scholarship applications before this date.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The deadline for applications is<strong> midnight, Friday 27 May 2016.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:paris@kent.ac.uk\">paris@kent.ac.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/paris\">www.kent.ac.uk\/paris<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Kent, Paris is pleased to announce a scholarship fund worth \u00a325,000 for taught Master\u2019s students studying during the academic year 2016\u201317.
