School Celebrates Elizabeth Cowie’s Contribution to Film

On Monday 6th June, we celebrated Prof. Elizabeth Cowie’s contribution to the School and Film department with a day-long symposium: The Politics and Aesthetics of Representation in Film and Video.

Laura Mulvey (left) was among the speakers giving papers at the symposium which celebrated the contribution of Professor Elizabeth Cowie (right) to film studies and to the University of Kent’s Film Department. The event took place at the School of Arts, and featured presentations by Julia Borossa (Middlesex University London), Alisa Lebow (University of Sussex), Adrian Rifkin (Central Saint Martins London), Caroline Rooney (University of Kent), Richard Rushton (Lancaster University) and Sarah Turner (University of Kent).
