The ARTiculation Prize is The Roche Court Educational Trust‘s national public speaking competition, which invites sixth-form students from all sectors of education to give a short presentation on a work of art, artefact or architecture of their choice. This year 500 students gave ARTiculation presentations to school and community audiences as part of the selection process. This was prior to participating in the ten Regional Heats held across the country in London, Leeds, Birmingham, Folkestone, Oxford, Cambridge, Salisbury and Bristol.

ARTiculation Conference

The annual ARTiculation Conference at Clare College celebrates the discussion of art and introduces possibilities offered by higher education. The event was heavily oversubscribed with schools attending from across England.

Dr Veronica Sekules from the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, University of East Anglia, delivered a talk on world art;  tours of the university’s architecture and art collections were led by Cambridge undergraduates. Dr Abigail Harrison-Moore from the University of Leeds delivered a general introduction to university admissions and representatives from ten universities attended introducing students to higher education options.

The Kenneth Clark Society ARTiculation Travel Award

At the Conference, four students who had participated in our ARTiculation outreach programme were awarded a travel prize of £125 each.

The Kenneth Clark Society ARTiculation Travel Award will enable the students from Folkestone, Sevenoaks, London and Birmingham to visit an artwork or an exhibition of their choice within the British Isles. The Award Winners’ selection included the Textiles Museum in York, the National Gallery and the Sir John Soane’s Museum in London.
