The exhibition ‘Visions of Utopia: Soviet Posters of the 1920s and 1930s from the Marx Library Collection’ at Pushkin House (5a Bloomsbury Square, London, WC1A 2TA) is the most recent by-product of Grant Pooke’s long-term research on this rediscovered cache of posters. He is also presenting new research on Frances Klingender, the subject of his major 2008 monograph, in the paper ‘Klingender’s Goya, the Zhdanovshchina and the New Left’ at the Social and Human Sciences Conference (‘Both Sides of the Iron Curtain’), Poletayev Institute for Theoretical and Historical Studies in the Humanities, National Research University — Higher School of Economics, Moscow (October 19th 2013).
