The artist Paul Coldwell will discuss his exhibition Temporarily Accessioned: Freud\u2019s Coat and Other Works<\/a><\/em> with Ben Thomas on Tuesday 8th<\/sup> June at 5.30pm (see below for the Zoom link). This show is currently running at The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge<\/a> until 27 June.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Coldwell is perhaps best known as a pioneer of digital printmaking, using the computer to weave together layered images that poignantly address themes of memory and identity, exile and loss. He is also a noted print scholar, publishing the acclaimed Printmaking: a contemporary perspective<\/em> (2010), and curator. Since his retrospective exhibition in 2013 at Studio 3 Gallery<\/a>, Coldwell has increasingly explored the creative potential of making subtle interventions in museum environments like Kettle\u2019s Yard in Cambridge or Sir John Soane\u2019s Museum<\/a> in London. The work<\/a> currently on display in Canterbury grew out of his long-standing relationship with the Freud Museum in London which in turn grew into a collaboration with the Sigmund Freud Museum in Vienna.<\/p>\n

Ben Thomas recently published a review of Coldwell\u2019s Picturing the Invisible<\/em> exhibition in IMPACT printmaking journal<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n
