On the Art History module Single Artist, students made bas-reliefs in the specialist workshop.
In creating bas-reliefs the students came to appreciate the technical skill and subtlety in Meta Warrick Fuller’s carving and produced their own amazing written and creative work. See student Katie Baker’s Flowers above.

Students learnt how to create three-dimensional forms with minimal projection and how to carve ‘in the negative’. Hands-on engagement with Fuller’s work inspired 2nd year student Gloria Sciarrino’s fresh and dramatic imagery.
